Speaking

I speak as a practitioner: everything below is something I run, not something I researched. Writing comes first for me, so I take a small number of engagements where the audience is a genuine fit.

Topics

  • 75 to 1,500 is its own discipline

Why small and mid-market businesses aren’t scaled-down enterprises, why most software and advice built for them fails, and what serving the generalist actually takes.

  • You’re the roadblock

Delegating ownership versus delegating tasks: how leaders become their organization’s bottleneck, how to read engagement data as a mirror, and the question that replaces “how do I solve this?”

  • Culture is designed, not inherited

What acquisitions expose about implicit culture, why every tradeoff argument is really a missing system, and how to build a leadership playbook people actually use.

Where I’ve done this

Most of my stage time comes from UKG’s own circuit: customer conferences including UKG Aspire, internal and partner events like GTMX and RPX Live, and leadership summits, including keynoting UKG’s Global Leadership Team Summit. At one Aspire I presented five sessions in a single afternoon, which I now cite on stage as a personal failure of delegation.

For podcasts and panels: I don’t need questions in advance, I bring positions rather than talking points, and I’m at my best when the host pushes back.
